Green Transformation of Brand Product Packaging - Low Carbon and Environmental Protection Plastic packaging Can not Be Ignored!

Under the "double carbon" goal, green consumption has become a new trend. With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, consumers' preference for "green" products has increased significantly.

According to the 2023 Global Consumer Trends report released by Mintel, a market research consulting company, 91% of Chinese consumers said that they might buy brands that reflect social responsibility (such as fulfilling the "double carbon" goal).

Green packaging has become a plus item for products, which has prompted more and more enterprises to seize the opportunity to promote the green transformation of product packaging, create a differentiated competitive advantage of the brand through packaging "carbon reduction", and quickly stand out in the industry.

In particular, with the release of the "Notice on Solidly Promoting the Treatment of Plastic Pollution", the standards for enterprises to implement the requirements of plastic pollution treatment have been refined, that is, the new version of the "plastic prohibition order", which we often refer to, in addition to requiring the prohibition and restriction of the use of non-degradable disposable plastic products, is also more to promote the green transformation of the plastic packaging industry. Realizing this, many enterprises have stepped out of the "plastic ban" misunderstanding, and no longer "one size fits all" shut out all plastic packaging. Instead, according to the actual application needs, they have realized the "green" of plastic packaging by reducing packaging, using renewable materials, using recycled packaging and other ways.

Let renewable resources "regenerate"

Through innovative materials, carbon emissions of plastic packaging can also be effectively reduced. Coca-Cola launched the first plastic beverage bottle made of 100% plant-based plastic last year. This new plant-based plastic bottle is similar to the traditional PET material in appearance, function and recovery rate, but it has less impact on the earth and the environment than the traditional PET material. It is made from p-xylene (bPX), a new raw material extracted from corn cane sugar, and converted into p-biophthalic acid (bPTA) by using the new process of Virent, an American bioenergy company.

As the world's first paraxylene (bPX) beverage packaging material capable of mass production, this new technology simplifies the intermediate steps of the extraction process of bio-based glycol (bMEG), ensures the diversity of raw material selection, and also supports the use of more types of renewable materials in the production process.

With the purpose of "environmental protection concept, recycling and recycling", Zhongding has developed a variety of paper handles and related supporting solutions, and hopes that paper handles can replace plastic handles to solve environmental protection problems from the source.

The environment-friendly paper handle is made of three layers of high-strength kraft paper through punching, folding, laminating and other processes. The production equipment is independently developed by the company, and the key technology has obtained many patents. Product quality is stable, performance is excellent, and user experience is improved.

Embracing the new changes in the "double carbon" era is not to completely abandon plastic products. Through proper material selection and design, plastic packaging can also effectively realize the green transformation of packaging.

On the way to promote the "green" development of the packaging industry, we hope to eliminate the misunderstanding of "plastic ban". Plastic prohibition ≠ no plastic. The goal of "plastic prohibition" is not to return human society to the era of no plastic products, but to eliminate "white pollution", prohibit and restrict the use of non-degradable disposable plastic products, and promote the green transformation of plastic packaging itself. It can be seen that plastic is not a monster in a flood. Don't talk about "plastic" color change.
